I’ve come to realize that health actually has nothing to do with the appearance of my body.
It has nothing to do with whether or not I have a six pack.
Or what size of clothing I’m able to squeeze into.
Health is about the heart.
It’s about whether or not my body, mind, and soul are thriving.
Health is a journey and a process.
If we base our security and our confidence in our physical appearance, then we will find ourselves disappointed throughout the different seasons of life. Pregnancy, birth, aging, and so on.
Life happens to our bodies and they won’t always look Hollywood “perfect”.
What if we based our beauty on what we find on the inside?
What if we looked inward to find true health?
What if our confidence didn’t come from striving to become what the world says we are supposed to be like?
Through both my pregnancies and deliveries I have acquired stretch marks, a saggy belly button, and an abdomen that looks nothing like the one I had before babies.
But isn’t it worth it?
Why would the world label that as ugly? Or unhealthy? Or imperfect?
My body that formed, carried, and brought two babies into this world is beautiful and powerful.
A body that has lived a long and full life and has aging spots to show for it is beautiful.
A body that has dimples, freckles, scars, spots, and marks is perfect!
You are beautifully and wonderfully made.
Your Creator finds no flaw in you.
Start looking at yourself through the lens of truth and rid yourself of the lies culture has tried to kill us with.
You are beautiful!
