Let’s face it, we all have days where we feel like a part of the low vibe tribe. Even the happiest, optimistic and most joyful people experience the “when it rains, it pours” phenomenon. I’ve always thought that that saying was, well….just a saying. However, with a little more research I discovered that it actually holds a lot of truth!
Our feelings, which are created by our thoughts, extend out from us in electromagnetic waves. These waves contribute to the rapid electromagnetic chain reactions that create our experiences. Therefore, the way we feel is the way we attract.
Think of a tuning fork.
If you struck a tuning fork in a room full of other tuning forks attuned to different pitches, only the ones attuned to the same frequency as the one you struck would ding, too. The frequency that goes out, attracts its identical frequency. Likewise, the vibrations we send out via the electromagnetic waves that are our feelings, attract our experiences — awesome or not-so-awesome — by finding their similar vibrations.
Positive, high vibrations attract stellar, high-vibration occurrences. Negative, low vibrations attract unfortunate, low-vibration circumstances (aka the pouring to the raining). Either way, what we send out is what we get back….which contributes to us feeling either “stuck in a rut” or “high on life”.
So you’re probably thinking, “Well great, so if I’m feeling like crap then am I inevitably going to continue feeling like crap for the rest of the hour, day, week, month, etc.?”
The answer is no.
Luckily, there are lots of quick and easy ways for us to raise our own vibrations. Five of which, I am going to share with you today.
Okay, so this is probably the number one easiest way to instantly raise your vibration. Smiling, (even when we don’t really feel like it) causes changes on a biochemical level. Endorphins, which are natural painkillers, dopamine and serotonin are all released when we allow a grin to spread across our face. Now, if you feel funny forcing a random smile then you can try engaging in some smile provoking activities such as looking up pictures of baby animals, watching cat videos, listening to stand-up comedy or thinking about the last time somebody other than you farted loudly in public.
2. Make a Gratitude List
Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude! This one is probably my favorite of the bunch because it doesn’t require you to do anything except think! Making a mental (or physical) list of all of the things you are grateful for not only occupies your mind with more positive thoughts, it produces feelings of gratitude. Remember, the way we feel is the way we attract – so feeling grateful as a result of practicing gratitude will only set you up for experiencing more things to be grateful for! Want to amplify the impact? Share what you are grateful for on social media or with others in your life, and encourage them to do the same! If high vibrations attract good things to us as individuals, imagine the circumstances that a whole community of high-vibers could create!
3. Move Your Body
Like smiling, exercise produces endorphins. Next time you feel angry, frustrated or just “bleh” consider taking your body out for a good ol’ spin. Now this doesn’t have to be strenuous or time consuming. You don’t have to go out and run a 5k or drive to the gym and lift a ton of weights. Moving your body can be as simple as going on a walk around the block, doing some arm circles or my favorite - having an epic solo dance party in your living room (this one doesn’t even require pants, so…you’re welcome).
The immense effects that visualization can have on our mental health and wellbeing are becoming increasingly apparent as time goes on. Athletes use visualization to help them perform, others use it to manifest their dream lives or to heal diseases within their bodies. Visualization can be practiced in-depth through meditation or more simply through imaginative thoughts. Focusing our thoughts on things that have the potential to bring us joy, such as being in our happy place or achieving our biggest goal, can super-boost our vibrations. After all, it is our thoughts that trigger our feelings aka our vibrations.
5. Listen to Music
Have you ever listened to a song that made you cry? Made you feel empowered? What about “in love”? Music has a magical way of influencing our emotions. The words, meanings, frequencies and emotions portrayed in the tunes we choose to play all have an effect on our conscious and subconscious minds. Therefore, we can lift our mood and raise our vibration by listening to songs or sounds that resonate with us in positive ways. For a double whammy of a vibration spike, one could even combine playing their favorite song with working out or having a random dance party in their living room. A song that always gets me smiling is the classic Hall and Oates Song “You Make my Dreams Come True”. What is your go-to happy song? Let me know in the comments below. Who knows, I might even make a Spotify playlist of all the songs you guys share. Stay tuned…
Well, there you have it – 5 ways to instantly raise your vibration. The next time you find yourself rollin’ with the low-vibe-tribe, try smiling, moving your body, visualizing, practicing gratitude or listening to music and see if your frequency doesn’t go up a notch. Or, if you have any other ways that you’d like to share then please do so in the comments below.
I wish you all the best on your vibe-raisin’, good-stuff-attractin’ journeys!
Make it a great week!
